This Week: Gadgets - Get it Done!

Dinner Is Served... Again!

Yes, there was a Dinner Is Served set for the Christmas holidays, but how about a summery version? After all, we do eat in the summer, and why not have a pretty table?

This set features a perky sunflower placemat/charger and matching coaster (both made entirely in the 6x10 hoop) and two new additions to the original set, a light-fill sunflower for embellishing napkins and a funand- functional basket! The 4 basket panels are also completed in the 6x10 hoop and then attached to each other with traditional sewing. All pieces but the fill version feature a front and back fabric and dense fleece batting with lots of rich satin stitching and decorative accent stitching. The corners of the basket are tied with matching ribbon to provide dimension and a whimsical touch.

And the final effect? A table that welcomes your guests and provides the backdrop for a delightful summer gathering! Enjoy!

Terry Cloth Towel Embroidery

To get embroidery onto a towel, some will do the embroidery, cut it out, and carefully hand stitch it to the final item. There is another way, and it doesn't involve terry cloth loops showing through your fill and satin stitch areas, or large squares of cut away backing on the underside. This technique shows you how to: embroider directly on your finished item, apply a water soluble topping to keep the terrycloth loops from poking through, and use a tear away-wash away stabilizer for the back.
