The embroidery gift bag comes with the side seams left open so that you can embroider it easily. If you need a baby shower bag for a boy, steps one through nine are for you. If you need a baby shower bag for a girl, skip to step ten. For a bag for a boy, first place your embroidery hoop over the bag, and use printed production sheets for "Bundle of Boy" and "Stick boy in wagon" (YB15) to mark placement for each design within your hooping area. We placed the "Bundle of Boy" start point 3 3/8 inches from the top of the bag, and the "Boy in Wagon" sticker 5 1/2 inches from the top. If your machine allows you to stitch designs up to 5" x 7", you might use software such as KP Compositions to merge the two designs into one before stitching.

Now to finish the side seams of the bag. First, lay the two fabric sides together (the bag appears to be inside out). With your sewing machine, begin a straight stitch from the pre-stitched line at the bottom of the bag, and continue straight stitching to the top. Repeat this for the other side seam.

Place your embroidery hoop over the bag, and use printed production sheets for "Heaven Sent", "Christmas Star" and "Children's Art: Angel" (YA22) to mark placement for each design within your hooping area. To duplicate our placement, place the sticker for "Heaven Sent" 2 3/4 inches from the top of the bag, in the center. Then place a sticker for the star 3 inches from the left side, and 3 1/4 inches from the top. The right star sticker goes 3 1/4 inches from the right, and 2 3/4 inches from the top. The angel's sticker goes 5 3/4 inches from the top, centered. You will need a 6"x8" hoop in order to stitch all of the designs without re-hooping. We used KP Compositions software to merge the design layout before stitching, so that we only had one start point to mark. If you have a stitching area and hoop that will allow for a 6" x 8" design, you might also do so.

Now to finish the side seams of the bag. First, lay the two fabric sides together (so the bag appears to be inside out, with the waterproofed lining on the outside). With your sewing machine, begin a straight stitch from the pre-stitched line at the bottom of the bag, and continue straight stitching to the top. Repeat this for the other side seam.
