This set is designed for 5x7 hoops (yes, I listened to all those requests!) and consists of 12 different design files that are joined in groups of 3 in the hoop to form columns. The columns are then easily sewn together with your choice of motif stitch from your sewing machine to form a table runner. You can repeat columns to make the runner as long as you wish, or just use 3 columns to create a placemat instead. The columns are 16 inches high, and my sample, consisting of 5 columns (I chose to repeat one column to make the runner longer), is 24 1/2 inches long. Each repeated column increases the length by 4 1/2 inches.
Each block features a different motif and calls for a dense inner batting for body and a front and back fabric, so the runner is reversible. The outer blocks provide a scalloped embellished border. You can choose to use an array of fabrics for a patchwork effect or just one or two for a solid or patterned effect. So visit your stash or check out the new spring fabrics at your fabric store and have fun!
