We used a lighter weight (60 weight) thread on the eyes for finer detail.

When beautiful Princess Pulcheria was 16 years old, she was one day running from room to room of the palace, when she came upon a spinning wheel and spindle. Very curiously she took the spindle in her hand, and upon doing so was pierced. She fell down with a swoon.
