Thanks for asking. The cold washaway is basically a clear plastic-like film similar to what is often called "solvy."
The hot washaway stabilizer is a fibrous one, more like a very light cutaway than like a clear plastic. This one also completely dissolves except that it does leave fibers inside your embroidery so that it is perfect for freestanding lace, providing stability to the embroidery.
