tried my cap hoop today and ended up not using it. Does the cap hoop snap directly to the bottom frame or on the top? If so it doesnt snap tight

I'm sorry to hear of your troulbe. The cap hoop should snap onto the bottom frame.
Are your magnets loose or missing?
On the back of the clip, there should be 2 rectangular cut outs that house the silver magnets.
If you hold the clip and hold the metal clip part at the tops-- then give the clip a little shake and can hear the magnets moving around or if they are not perfectly fitting into the rectangular spots, you may have a defective clip. Please let us know if that is the case.

Hi, Donna. The Magnetic Hoop Clip is specifically designed for use with the Snap Hoop Monster. It might work with other hoops, but is more specifically recommended for the Snap Hoop monster.

Maria, the Magnetic Hoop Clip is made specifically to work with any Monster Snap Hoop. If you have a Snap Hoop Monster for your Bernina 880, this product is absolutely recommended.

I have used it for a few years. It is not new. It is easier on some caps than others as to being able to lie the bill and cap material flat. The downside is the placement on the cap is very limited. But it works fine. I have done about 6 caps. Look for a cap that can easily open up flat when the bill is clipped.
