The E-Z Stitch Lock Spacer kit provides locking spacers to either upgrade your lapstand or replace missing spacers. These OEM, genuine lock spacers lock the legs of the legs and feet in place but allow the frame to easily spin. The lock spacers can be used at each position on the lapstand leg, allowing a large variety of stitching positions to best meet the needs of your project.

Our new lock spacers are similar to our old spacers. However, the lock spacers fix issues where the frame would bind against the legs. The new lock spacer kit can upgrade your old lapstand and eliminate this problem. All lapstands and leg kits purchased during or after June 2022 come with the new lock spacers.

Our Heavy Duty Lock Spacers are especially good for adding room between the lapstand legs and the frame. This allows more room for your hands or larger knobs; some find the wider spacers to be more asthetically pleasing.
"Do you need the heavy duty or regular spacers?" The regular spacers come with the lapstand and the leg kit. If you need more room for your hands, knobs, or prefer the wider look, then the Heavy Duty Lock Spacer kit is right for you.

In the second picture (with the blue scroll rod grime-guard), is that a scroll frame side bar being used to attach the scroll frame to the stand/spacer? How does that work with the side bars on the scroll frame itself?

Hi Jen,

If I am looking at the correct picture then yes that is the side bar, but it looks a little different then our updated lap stand. Anyway, here's a picture of where the sidebars are located on our current lap stand, as well as a whole picture of the lap stand. I circled the 2 side bars with arrows pointing at them.

How it works is that we'll send you the screws in the lap stand set, so that you can screw the sidebar into the spacer. But if you were to just order the spacer kit then the spacer kit would come with the screws. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Have a great day!

What is the diameter of the machine screws?

Hi Elizabeth,

Thanks for checking. The diameter of the machine screw is 10-24: 0.1900 or 19/100 in diameter; 24 threads per inch. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Have a great day!

Can both sizes be purchased? I have a frame I want to use, but I need a spacer set. I have an older model in Cherry from Tomorrow's Treasure in WA.

Hi Mary,

Thanks for reaching out to embroidery.com! The two sizes come in separate kits, but it's fine if you order both spacer kits. Have a great day!

Are these thicker than the normal spacers for the lap stand

Hi, Monica. It was nice speaking with you earlier. As discussed, these are the larger spacers needed for use on the lap stand if you are using iron knobs. If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Hi,

I would like to suggest, when using these heavy duty spacers, you need to put washers in between the heavy duty spacers for a smooth rotation. I tried using them without the washers and all they did was rub against the rods and did not make for a smooth rotation! I do like them very much!
