Hi Maryanne,
I'm happy for you, getting back into sewing. It's a lovely thing.
Those are good questions. I have never personally used a Husqvarna machine. I have had years of experience converting designs to different file formats for a variety of machines, and assisting customers who were unable to use designs for various reasons. I don't recall ever running into having too many stitches per design for this machine. We ran into it a lot with Janome, but not Husqvarna. So while I also couldn't find an upper limit on stitchcount for your machine, I can say it seems unlikely that you will run up against it. If you do, and the design is from us, please contact us for a refund.
True Sizer is a pretty good program and works best on EMB files, which are not broadly available. It does recognize and size a wide variety of embroidery formats. I suggest using the free program for a while to see how its results work for your needs. Generally size changes of more than 20% should be approached with caution. So if a design is a little larger than your hoop, you can likely size it down for use. But a design made for a much larger sewing area, unless it was a really simple design... I would not recommend sizing.
I do suggest looking at Embrilliance Essentials software. It has the ability to split designs into multiple hoopings, so that you can stitch larger designs by hooping two or more pieces, one at a time. Essentials will also do size changes, on many formats and I've always been please with the results.
I hope this helps a bit and encourages your efforts.

Maryanne S.
I have really moved up in the world of machine embroidery, quilting and sewing, but I still have this machine with a 4x4 sewing area:
Husqvarna Viking® HuskyStar EM10

I hardly used it before I moved up to a machine with a bigger sewing area.
I am interested in knowing if you would be able to supply a new or used hoop for the Husqvarna Viking® HuskyStar EM10.
