Hi, I was a little confused by your comment about using hoops. I don't care what is "dated", lol, I use what's easiest for me. If it helps, I have found hoops and patterns super cheap at thrift stores, particularly the Hospice Thrift. If you have one close to you, it might help with cost.

Have you checked out the EZ Stitch Scroll Frames? Check out my EZ Stitch Blog for Videos on them. https://www.embroidery.com/family.ec?efid=4785
Along with my scroll frame I love the Mighty Bright Hammerhead Light. I have found that I like direct light on my stitching so the little clip on works well. As for magnifiers it really is a trial and error, to see what you like. I have found that I like glasses that I ware then clip on magnifiers. Especally for doing small, small work like one over one I actually got some dollar store readers and they worked really well. (as long as you ONLY look through them at your stitching and not around :D) Here's a Link to all of our lighting and magnifiers https://www.embroidery.com/Lighting-and-Magnifiers....

Donnett, I am just wandering if you can help me ... i am living in israel. i find that as i am growing older my eye site is worsen and my hands hurt but i love to do embroidery and cross stitch. to accommodate the physical changes of aging, i thought that i might find a stand up frame that will help me to continue and do some designs and also a standing lamp with a magnifying glass. umpteen years ago similar items were available in western Canada, but i cannot find them no where around me now that i need them. would you know how or where i can find such items? thanks for your help. Does the Q-Snap hold the fabric as tightly as the hoop?

The outside C-Clamps can loosen over time. Others have put extra fabric between the piping and the clamp to compensate for that.

Hi... I'm coming back to embroidery and cross stitching. What's the best products to use for stretching you're Fabrics besides hoops? Also I need best reasonable magnifying products with lights. I've tried the OttiLite lights and still can't find the magnifying size and lighting that best suits me. My concerned, more than anything is not working with hoops. I've been told it's dated. That how much I know... I don't want to break pocket book getting started again. Plus coupons at Joann's Fabrics helps also.
