my fabric is 24 inches long should my scroll rod be the same size? how would I know what size to buy? I also have a heaven and earth design the Stitching Shelf what size scroll frame should I purchase?

Jeanne E.

Hi Evelyn,
Thanks for checking! We recommend that you use rods that are 2" wider then your fabric, so that there is room to roll the fabric and it helps with tension. So if your fabric is 24" then it would be best to have rods that are 26", or longer. Also, the frame length is based off of the rods, so a 26" frame should be fine with your 24" fabric. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Have a good day!

Is the velcro on the scroll rods permanent?

Darin Andersen
Although you could probably strip away the velcro, they are meant to stay attached to the rods. You would not be able to reuse velcro that has been removed. The rods (with the velcro attached) can be reused for future projects.

Jeanne E.

Hi Bren,
Thanks for checking. The velcro is not permanently stuck on the rods. You can get it off if needed. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Have a great day!

I need the knobs as the bolts in the rods I purchased are too small for the knobs I have. Do you carry these?

Jeanne E.

Hi Elaine,
Thanks for reaching out to embroidery.com! Are the rods you purchased from our company? If you have rods from another stitchery, then our knobs might not be compatible.

Irene H.
Do you have scroll rods with EZ tape on them or do you need to order everything separately

Heather B.
Hi, Irene. This product is the rods with tape for rods on them. Tape for fabric is sold separately. If you need a scroll frame, they do come with tape for fabric included: https://www.embroidery.com/generic-scroll-frame-set?efid=2387.

I think the bolts vary by size. What size are you interested in, Dwayne?

Hi. I would like to purchase the stand. I understand it comes with 30” rods. I would also like to purchase 48” rods to use for my 42” wide fabric. Do I need anything else for the 48” rods.

Donnett H.

No you should not need anything else besides the extra set of rods. The Floor Stand includes 1 roll of Tape for Fabric which incudes 3 yards of tape so that should be enough for your 42" project. But you can always purchase extra tape once you finish this amazing project. :D Can't wait to see it.

Brigitte H.
Thank you so much. Can’t wait to start it.

Michelle T.
Hello,
If I already own the heavy duty 24in rods with 12in side bars, can the 36" extra heavy duty rod screws fit the knobs I currently own? Or will I need to purchase additional knobs? TYIA!

Heather B.
Hi, Michelle. The knobs are interchangeable with whatever size of rod you are using. Thanks for the question.

Huong V.
Hi. My piece of fabric is 37 inches. I am thinking of buying the 48" scroll rods velco
48" length, 3/4" extra heavy duty diameter SR48HDNB
. Do you have floor stand to go with it? And do these rods come with the knobs at the end to hold them to the frame?

Heather B.
Hi Huong. Thanks for the question. This item is the rods only, so you would also need to order Side Bars, Knobs, and Tape for Fabric in order to get a full 48" Scroll Frame Set.
To answer your other question: yes, we offer a floor stand. It comes with 30" rods, but you can of course also use it with 48" rods (purchased separately). The floor stand comes with side bar, knobs, etc.

Huong V.
Please let me know what Side Bars, Knobs, and Tape that would go with this scroll frame?
thanks.

Heather B.
Hi again, Huong. You would need a set of four knobs, such as our wood knobs:
https://www.embroidery.com/ez-stitch-knobs.ec
Also, a roll of Tape for Fabric:
https://www.embroidery.com/ez-stitch-tape-for-fabric-generic.ec?efid=1245
And side bars of your choice. Since you're ordering 48" rods, you'd probably want larger side bars, such as 12" or 16" side bars. Here's a link to all available sizes:

I have a new piece that I want to start that is 29" wide. Would you recommend the 30 or the 36" scroll rods?

Heather B.
Thanks for the question, Katie. We would recommend the 36" scroll rods for your project as the rods need to be at least 2 inches larger than the width of your project. We hope that's the information you needed.

I have several sizes of webbed rods. I there a way I can convert them to tape rods?

Heather B.
Yes, you would just remove the webbing and attach tape for rods to your rods and tape for fabric to your fabric. If you need instructions, please see our needlework blog:

I would prefer the original sew on kind of attaching fabric to my scroll rods. Is it possible to obtain any of these rods now?

Heather B.
Yes, Pandora, we still have rods with a canvas webbing that you can sew onto available. Here's a link to all our webbing style rods:

I need a pair of scroll rods that accommodate a piece of aida that is 50". Any suggestions? I could cut it down to 48" but that only leaves me 2" on each side of my stitching.

Donnett H.

Hi Sharon right now the largest rods we have are the 48" I have contacted our supplier and see if they carry them longer. Even if you cut it down it would come right up the the side bars and I recommend having at least a inch or so on each side of the fabric to help scroll it up and it also helps with the tension of your fabric. I will let you know what my supplier says if they do carry them longer.

Nancy n.
My fabric piece is 29.5 inches wide. What size heavy scroll bars will I need?

Donnett H.

I like to have my scroll rods a couple inches larger then my fabric. This way I have space on either side of the fabric for my fingers to scroll the bars up. So with your fabric being almost 30” and the next scroll rod size up is 36”.

Donnett H.

HI Patricia We do not have 60" Scroll Rods at this time. That being said we are looking into carrying them in the future. Be sure to check back as we are adding new products all the time. Thanks

Patricia S.
I am looking for a pair of 60 inch scroll rods. Do you make these? If not, do you happen to know where I might find them?
Patti M.
Probably a question that has been answered, but could not find it. The price for the rods, is that for two in a package or for only one? I don’t want to order one thinking there will be two in the pack and then have to wait for the second rod.
Thank you
