I just looked at one of our JellyRoll's in stock. I see what you mean about the dowel which is in the inside. From what I can see it's sewn in there, so it would be hard to get out. So I'd recommend handwashing it, but leaving the dowel on the inside. Sorry for the inconvenience. Have a good day!

This is a fabulous product! Mine just arrived, and I love it! One question--how does one remove the dowel in order to wash before using (as mentioned above)? Or do you wash with the dowel inside?
