Assembly is simple and can be completed within minutes without any tools required. Assembly instructions can be found here. Instructions on how to attach the fabric to the frame are here. This sturdy frame is fashioned from solid American Red Oak and hand finished with natural oil stain.

The Tomorrow's Treasures Lap and Tabletop Stand Webbing Version includes:

  • 2 Legs which are 15.5" tall, 2.5" wide at the top and 4.5" wide at the base.

  • 2 Feet

  • 2 12" Adjustable Side Bars

  • 2 qty 20" Heavy duty scroll rods, with webbing fabric attached

  • Two spacers

  • 10 Knobs

  • 2 qty 3" Pan-head Screws

  • 2 Flat Washers

This lap stand uses the Webbing system to attach the fabric to the scroll rods. Rods come with webbing fabric already attached to them. Stitch your project fabric to the webbing rods, then assemble and tighten your scroll frame to achieve optimal tension.

One of the benefits of using our Lap Stand is that now you can stitch with both hands. I have found that not only is stitching with both hands much faster, but my stitches look much neater and straight. Another benefit is that your hands scarcely touch the fabric now, so fabric will be clean when you are finished with a project.

The Lap / Tabletop Stand is versatile and can be adapted to many configurations:

  • the height of the stand is adjustable by inserting the screw through any of the holes drilled in the leg.

  • You can adjust the size of the stitching area by moving the rods closer or further apart on the Side Bar. The 12” Side Bars are adjustable to 6”, 8”, 10”, and 12.”

  • Any size of the E-Z Stitch Scroll Rods can be used with our Lap Stand. Scroll Rods are available in sizes that range from 6” to 48.”

The E-Z Stitch Lap Stand is adjustable. The scroll frame can be attached to the Legs in a variety of positions. If you are stitching on a couch, you may want to position the scroll frame in the top holes, making it closer to yourself. If you are working on a tabletop, you can position it in the lower holes to bring it toward you. Combining different sizes of scroll rods and side bars creates a variety of sizes.

Flipping the Scroll Frame over to the back

There is a pan-head screw that goes through the Side Bar the Spacer then the Leg. Then a knob is attached and tightened to secure it in to place. That knob must be loosened before you flip it over to get to the back of your work. Then once you flip it back use a screwdriver to tighten it back down and secure the frame into place.

Make sure you always loosen the knobs before flipping it over other wise you could strip out the insert in the knob or strip the bolt. This kit eliminates the need of a screwdriver to tighten your scroll frame when flipping your scroll frame from the back.

Where have you been all my life? I bought some cross stitch sets to work while recovering from back surgery. I didn't look at the dimensions and ended up with one that is the size of a standard wall poster! I will be ordering soon.

Wow, that's a tremendous project! I'm glad we could provide the frame that you'll need for it. Best wishes.

Hi

I have the original lap frame but have never used it. Have decided to go back to the webbing type. Just ordered a heavy duty webbed scroll rod. Will it work with the lap frame I have, or do I need to buy a different frame?

Our webbing scroll rods work in our lap stand, no need to purchase anything else. Both the tape and webbing scroll rods will work. I hope that helps.

I have only ever used hoops and I am considering upgrading to a scroll frame with stand. Can this stand accomodate larger and small projects alike, or if I am working on a more narrow piece, will I want to exchange the scroll rods for narrower scroll rods to acheive adequate tension? Thanks!
