I would recommend reaching out to the main Embrilliance company, to see if they have it. From the Finder menu, click View, then click Show View Options. Once you are here, just be sure that "Show icon preview" is selected. Heather, do you have to have embrilliance to run this program? Is it an add-on or does it stand alone. I have Bernina Artista and would like to purchase, but need to know this.

No, you do not need other Embrilliance software in order to use Thumbnailer. Bernina Artista software is fine as long as it uses one of the formats listed above, such as .ART format.

Thumbnailer works "quietly". If you open a folder of embroidery designs, it will show pictures instead of default icons. If that is not happening, and you have recently installed it, re-starting the computer should fix it.

Good questions. Essentials does not include Thumbnailer.

Thumbnailer is a program that you don't actually use. Once you have chosen the formats "select all" as you did, you have done all that you need to do with it. What Thumbnailer does is allow you to open folders on your computer which contain embroidery files, and see a small thumbnail image of the designs without opening them in any software. Without Thumbnailer, you would see default icons, so that all your designs would be distinguishable in the folder only by their file names.

So, while it maybe looks like it is included with Essentials because it helps you see your designs before you open them, it would look differently if you didn't have Thumbnailer.

How Does Thumbnailer Work?

Kirsten, I think I may have needed to restart my computer for Thumbnailer to take effect, because this morning when I clicked on an embroidery folder, instead of a list with little thumbnails by each file, there is a "carousel" at the top of the page that you can flip through like a book. These images are fairly large and easy to see, and it is simple to flip the pages to see the different designs. It seems like I do not have to be in Essentials for this to work, and I do think this makes it worthwhile to keep the Thumbnailer software. Thank you for your response even though it is the weekend. By the way, I have a 2017 iMac running High Sierra; maybe that makes a difference. Anyway, I do really like the program now! Thanks again! :)

Marci, you are correct! I am sorry I didn't remember to suggest re-starting, and I'm glad you figured it out. It does look different on a Mac.Thanks for sharing the screenshot. I think we have an option for a similar view in Windows, at least I remember it in the XP version, but it's not the default for most of us.

Betty, if you are asking about your Art and Explorations software, I do not have any information on those as those are not products we carry.

Embrilliance Thumbnailer works independently of other softwares and basically allows you to preview designs before opening them in whichever software you have. It will not move or combine designs, just allow you to see more easily what you have.

Hi, Barrie. Thanks for the question. No, this software does not allow you to print templates. It basically just allows you to preview your design from Windows (or other operating system) BEFORE you click to open it, so you can easily identify which design is which without having to open each design in your embroidery software. If you're looking for software that allows you to print a image which can be used as a template, I would recommend a software such as Embrillaince Essentials.

I use it on Windows 10. The only issue I had was that after installation, I didn't completely shut down and re-start the computer. Thumbnailer didn't work until I did that. Once I had, it was great!
