For those of you who attempted to download the FREE design and were surprised to $5.00 total at checkout, I appologize. I forgot to renew the Sale End Date on the design. Everything should be working now and the two of you that decided to purchase it anyway, I have issued a refund.
I am not sure what a looped picot stitch is. I have looked on-line for it but just see regulat picot stitches. Are they the same or are they created differently? I can't tell from the picture in the stitch guide.
Hi Willow,
What a great question! It looks like there are at least two kinds of picot stitches, open and looped. However, the looped picot stitch is sometimes called the Bullion Picot, or Bullion loops which may have been why you had a hard time finding anything about it online. Here is a link to a great "how to" article and video on Bullion Picot loops that should do help clarify. I hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any other questions, and have a great day!

I completed all of her hearts and many other pieces years ago - she's still hands-down my favorite designer. I wish I could join on the 9th - hopefully I could make the later TBD date?
Question: She mentioned in the video doing the hardanger cutting last - but I always did it first BECAUSE - if, heaven forbid, you accidentally cut the wrong thread, it makes reweaving a new thread easier if you haven't stitched the rest yet. Perhaps at the second live session she can talk about how to fix an error like that? :)
Emie, showed how to work around a miscut thread. I just posted the video on this page and it can be viewed on youtube here.
I am interested in making the hardanger heart. How will the pattern be made available?
The pattern is added to "My Designs" when you add this product to your cart and checkout. There is no charge, but you do go through the purchase process so that the design is specifically licensed to you.
I signed up to participate and when I downloaded the free design and it charged my credit card $5.00. Why did it charge me?
Sorry, Michele, that was unintended and your card has been credited. See my explanation on the post above.
Would like to participate but cannot make the December 7 session. Will I be able to do it on my own using the videos? I should be able to make the later date in December however
Yes, the instructions on pattern and posted video will guide you on your own. The live sessions (which will be recorded) will primarly be answering questions and sharing Hardanger Christmas decore
I will not be able to joi the live sessions as I live In Australia.
Hi Jean, the live session will be recorded. The "How-To" of this project are included in the recorded video. The live session will be more of a Q&A and Show N' Tell. Post any questions you have in this forum and we'll run them past Emie before the "Live".
Looking forward to it; however, I cannot make the time but would love to work on it at night
We're glad to have your participation. The diagrams on the downloadable pattern along with the posted video demonstrate the various stitches. The live sessions with Emie will mostly be a Q&A and Show 'N Tell.
This is new to me, I am interested in participating and look forward to receiving instructions as soon as possible. Thank you
Add this product to your cart and checkout. The pattern will be added to "My Designs" . There is no charge, but you do go through the purchase process so that the design is specifically licensed to you. Both the pattern and posted video provide instructions on how to do each of the stitches. We're glad for your participation.
I am interested in participating, however I cannot make the live session.
We're glad to have your participation. The live sessions with Emie will be recorded and will mostly be a Q&A and Show 'N Tell. Once you download the design and watch the video you will be set to start your project. Let us know if you have questions that you would like Emie to answer.
where will the recorded sessions be? YouTube?
Hi Robin, the pattern is added to "My Designs" when you add this product to your cart and checkout. There is no charge, but you do go through the purchase process so that the design is specifically licensed to you.
my only concern is that the 2 live on-line sessions might conflict with other things I already have scheduled. Please provide dates and times as soon as possible. Thank you
Hi Willow,
We just got word that the first session of the stitch along will be on December 7th at 2:00 MST. I hope you can make it! If not, don't worry, because it will be recorded.
