Purple Onion Cafe

Purple Onion Cafe
My cousin is a waitress and she wanted me to stitch her name and the restaurant’s logo on an apron for her. It was my first attempt at digitizing, and it took me for-ev-er! I just couldn’t get it right.

First, I wanted to do a satin border around it. I tried the different input methods for satin (L/R & A/B), tried adjusting the inclinations, and tried generating both a satin border and a satin column. At best, I was mildly successful.

Second, the lettering [on original artwork] drove me crazy and, in the end, I skipped it.

What I finally came up with was to use the Magic Wand tool to capture the border and the fill. I generated these as fill stitches, and the end result wasn’t too bad.

P.S. - This class has been very helpful…I’m so glad you guys put it together.

Thanks! I haven't given up on the lettering yet...it'll bug me until I get it right! :)
