Build your own Hemingworth Thread Storage

Several years ago, Hemingworth offered wooden drawers for storing thread. This item was produced at a local wood shop but was eventually discontinued due to the low margin and high cost of shipping. For many of our customers, its more economical to order the inserts and then have the drawers built by a local shop (or handyman) in their area.

We decided to make the inserts available as well as provide the measurements for the thread caddy that we used to sell. You are welcome to use these measurements to build your own caddies or have them built by a carpenter you know, using wood and stain that matches the decor of your sewing room. Please note that the following article provides measurements only and does not provide instructions for fashioning, joining, or assembling the caddy. You should choose a carpenter who has the skills and equipment to do this.
