Embroidered Candy Bar Wrapper
Chocolate is a top Valentine gift item, though not all chocolate bars come wrapped in romantic elegance. Show your own dear heart in love how you really feel. This project involves embroidering on paper, but don't worry -- it isn't difficult!
1:
Select the paper. Specialty paper that is thin and somewhat soft to the touch is a good choice for this project. A high fiber content is evident in paper when it feels a little bit like fabric. Look for decorative papers in a scrapbook or craft supply store.
2:
Hoop a sheet of tearaway backing in a hoop large enough to accomodate most of the paper. Spray the backing with an embroidery safe adhesive such as 505 Spray 'n Fix.
3:
Press the paper in place over the backing.
4:
Choose a design with a light stitch density such as "Hearts in Love" (SUD1505). Refer to the size of the candy bar to be covered in choosing the placement. For this project, the design was placed in the center of the 8"x 10" sheet of paper.
5:
Embroider directly on the prepared paper. A regular sharp 11/75 needle should be adequate.
6:
Trim the stabilizer to the size of the specialty paper.
7:
Trim the paper to the size of the candy bar wrapper.
8:
Now cover the chocolate bar and secure the paper on the back with glue or decorative stickers.
Embroidery and chocolate go very well together, don't you think?

Thanks. It's fun to do, too. And always very impressive. :)
