11 multiformat design files in 2 sizes designed for 150 mm or wider hoops.
This reversible stippled wallhanging quilt is composed of as many squares as you like, and no two will look alike as you choose fabrics to build each square.
There are eleven patterns in the design set, but by varying the fabrics or rotating the squares as you position them in the final wallhanging, each will look different. For my sample, I chose to make the hanging sixteen squares arranged four per row. Some of the squares are just two base colors, one on the front and the other on the back, and then appliqued with different-colored bands on the front and back--all in the hoop, of course (o; The rest of the squares have two base colors as well, but after the first part of the square is tacked down and trimmed, the project is designed so that the trimmed remnant from the front will fit exactly into the remaining position on the back and vice versa with the trimmed remnant from the back.
As a result, the front and back of each of those squares are like old-time photograph negatives of each other at that point. Then, as on the previous squares, the bands are appliqued. After the desired number of squares is complete, the squares are joined with a zig-zag stitch, the seams are covered with ribbon or trim, the edges are bound, ribbon hangers are attached, and the compliments begin!
So get ready to have some crazy fabric fun with this project! And as a bonus, you'll be able to clear out some of those old fabric scraps (and make room for new!) For more inspiratin, visit our
