The prince, knowing that Cinderella was the only one for him, went across the land, accompanied by the herald. They carried the glass slipper on a finely embroidered pillow and had all of the young maidens try it on, for the one who it fit was to be the prince’s bride.
When Laurence came to Cinderella’s home, her stepsisters tried to make the shoe fit their large feet with no success. When Cinderella came out of the kitchen and asked to try on the glass slipper, her stepfamily scoffed at her but the prince knew at once that she was his beloved. He slipped the shoe onto her foot.
Soon after, the engagement between Cinderella and Prince Laurence was announced. By and by the couple was married. They lived happily ever after.
