Lace Lapel Pins

Lace Lapel Pins

Included in Anita Goodesign's Lace Jewelry design pack are three large 3D designs that are used to create lace lapel pins. In this project, we teach you how to construct them.

 1:

These are the designs used to create the three dimensional pins. Which one would you like to begin with? In this tutorial, we illustrate creating the "Poinsettia Pin" (Hdlj26).

 2:

Embroider all of the individual pieces of the design on a washaway stabilizer like Hemingworth's Hot Water wash away. For the poinsettia pin, all three necessary designs come into your download center when you purchase "Poinsettia Pin (Three Pieces)" (Hdlj26). Cut away the extra stabilizer, and rinse the lace out. Allow the lace to dry, and press it.

 3:

Using a needle and thread, hand sew the smaller petal piece to the base embroidery, which is the larger flower.

 4:

Sew the small cluster to the center of the other two pieces, binding all three together, with the largest piece on the bottom and the smallest piece on the top.

 5:

Last, simply glue the design to the back of a brooch pin, using clear-drying glue. Jewel Glue is a good choice. Let the glue dry, and you are finished.
